One more attempt to tackle The Dunwich Legacy! This time I'll test whether going double Adaptable is worth it. Jenny Mk. 7 will be combat-focused, but she'll forego combat events such as Backstab or Vicious Blow.
Extracurricular Activity: R3. Professor Warren Rice was kidnapped! The Experiment was defeated! 6XP (The Experiment, Yithian Observer, Orne Library, Dormitories, Delve Too Deep)
Highlights: Holy >beep<! Machete is such an awesome weapon. I've never used it before since it doesn't fit Jenny's image. It turns out I've been missing out on such utility. I was hit with both weaknesses early, but managed to recover. Amnesia is savage, but at least it doesn't disrupt your speed. The ending was really tense. Picture this: The Experiment, undamaged, moves to Student Union. Ancient Evils is drawn, so rather that comfortable 2 turns, I've got 1 turn to deal it 10 damage. Or alternatively I could withdraw via Dormitories and collect 4XPs. I've got Leo De Luca, Machetee, Hard Knocks with piles of resources and Double or Nothing in hand, so it is possible to deal that 10 damage. I tentatively play Double or Nothing and test at +1. Skull Token. I attack once more at +1 and draw the Zero Token, so that's 6 damage already. Two actions, 6 resources left, so both attacks can be made at +3. The odds are in my favour, but one wrong chaos token means it's all over. In the end... all shall hail Blade Mistress Jenny!
The House Always Wins: R1. The O’Bannion gang has a bone to pick with Jenny! Dr. Francis Morgan was kidnapped! 6XP (Clover Club Pit Boss, Art Gallery, VIP Area, Back Alley, 2x Delve Too Deep)
Highlights: I drew exactly one weapon during the entire game and had to discard it for . Jenny was able to beat the Clover Club Pit Boss with her bare hands, but him and multiple other enemies bogged her down. With Leo De Luca discarded at the Clover Club Lounge there was just no time to save Peter Clover as I've planned. One the plus side, Searching for Izzie conventiently spawned at the La Bella Luna and Amnesia hit while I had no cards in hand. Not perfect, but criminal enemies aren't so bad during The Blood on the Altar and I was able to score more XP than I usually do in this scenario.
Interlude I: Jenny rescued Dr. Henry Armitage!
The Miskatonic Museum: R1. Jenny destroyed the Necronomicon! 6XP (Exhibit Hall, Exhibit Hall, Exhibit Hall, Exhibit Hall, Exhibit Hall, Delve Too Deep)
Highlights: Nothing too much out of the ordinary happened. It's still one of the easier scenarios. Unless your investigator gets locked out of the museum for several turns or you're particularly unlucky with Cultist Tokens it can be cleared out relatively risk-free. This time I've decided to destroy the Necronomicon. It's the safer option and who knows whether having it during the last scenario won't lead to some problems. In the meantime, rather than boarding the train straight to Dunwich, Jenny shall ditch her Fine Clothes and visit the bayous of southern Louisiana. (-1XP)
Curse of the Rougarou: R2. The Rougarou is destroyed and the curse is lifted! 2XP (Ritual Grounds, Broadmoor)
Highlights: I'm not sure I'll be including this sidequest into my next runs, since it's extremely demanding for solo investigators due to ticking horror and the amount of running that needs to be done. I imagine Curse of the Rougarou would be crippling in regular campaign. Still, I managed to stave off the disaster with Liquid Courage and since On the Prowl doesn't say the monster has to move away from the investigator I had it come directly to Jenny. Rougarou died to Dynamite Blast, which is an exceptional card in this scenario.
