The Plan:
Nobody knows where he came from, or how long ago. Soldiers in a hundred wars on a hundred continents tell the story of a man who appeared in the night and fought like an army all his own. Often he fights alongside the faction he deems most just, sometimes he simply defends those who would otherwise be crushed under the great machinery of human conflict. And when the fighting passes, no matter the result, he vanishes again.
His weapons are drawn from across time. His clothes and the language he speaks are different in every telling. The only common thread is a name, a woman's name, and a sketch he carries in his pocket.

No-one knows where she lived, or when, but speak to this wanderer just a moment and you know she is dead. Gone. Lost to him, perhaps, more than she would be lost to any other, for he has not even the luxury of death to bring him back to her.
And so he continues to fight.
He will fight forever.
