This deck is an absolute S-Tier pile, if everything falls in place correctly. But if not it is an incredibly versatile deck that is very interesting to pilot. Eight bonded cards and multiple different strats that can run away with the game on their own.

TL; DR

-

Role: Heavy cluever.

Setup: Rather slow. Explosive options.

Control: Variety of options.

Clues: Flexible. From good compression too high stats.

Economy/Card draw: Seeker + Forced Learning, Multiple sources of Economy

Horror/Damage: Charisma offers ok soak, slightly vulnerable

Encounter Protection: A lot of commitment and ok Will

As the title suggests, this leans very heavily into the so-called Discard Package (Resourceful, Discovery, etc.). Forced Learning sort of being the star of the deck, this card offers consistency, together with giving you huge flexibility in what to put in your deck.

The disadvantage of going for this that you can’t really rely on a specific strategy, because you simply want always draw it, so the approach I took with this deck is to have multiple different ‘combos’ that have cards that can be used in overlapping combos.

What comes out is a pretty dynamic deck, where you kinda need to play with what you get and see how your cards work together, which, for me, makes this deck so interesting to play.

Upgrade Path:

Upgrade Dream Diary Madman or Explorer; 3exp

Stays an excellent card for Minh. The choice of what version you take is really depending on the team. Explore is more straightforward, while Madman gives you options to evade

Deep Knowledge Adrianas Twine; 3exp

Essential for EonChart + Twine

Upgrade Eon Chart; 3exp

Take Heart Unrelenting; 2exp

Unrelenting is just good card draw and it gives PMP another target

Charisma and Relic Hunter; 6exp

Later on the list cuz you kinda need to draw both to make slots an issue

Mag glass Ice Pick(3); 6exp

They kinda are ‘Discard-Cards’ so they work well with Resourceful and Scavenging

Later on:

Upgrade Deduction, Perception, Lexicon, Whitton; 16exp

Inquiring Mind Eye of Truth; 5exp

Combos, Packages & Cards:

More of an enabler, but this kinda gives you a good direction into what your strat for the game should be. Plus it can give you a Winging It/Discorvery in the graveyard from the start, which would be a brick if you draw it like that. And then it also makes Resourceful, Scrounge & Scanveging good from the start.

Whitton can tutor most of the decks assets. Segments of Onyx are in the deck to give you her boost quickly. She can give you a lot of one-ofs (Chart, Diary, Lexicon) and help assemble Segment. She is kinda important for this deck and fits to a lot of the cards.

Kind of the seeker-bread-and-butter these days. Relic Hunter doesn’t even feel so nice with it, because you can get it back with Scavenging, when Pendant knocks it away.

The main clue compression in this deck. Winging It has obviously been a staple for many years, and it just gets better hear, when you can cycle it back into the deck and discard it again with Learning. Discard abilities in every game feel super strong, when you have ‘targets’ for it, cards that want to be discarded.

Similar is Discovery. This card is a good example for the ‘running away with game’-idea. It can really feel incredibly strong for a lvl0 card, if everything falls into place. And the tools for this are already in the deck from the beginning on. If it isn’t at its best, the idea is to have one in the discard pile and play a second one for two clues.

Both of these cards may feel like worse Deductions, but Deduction is a very strong card and the argument for these would be that their easierly repeatable ig.

This feels like a very intuitive card for this deck. It does so many things. Fill your hand up for Necronomicon, does damage and gains resources. It can also discard a Discovery or Winging It from your hand and gain resources from a Segment you can recur with Scavenging.

A very flexible card that offers a lot of play. I mean, with this you can evade, auto-succeed and also deal dmg. You can also discard cats to play them with their own ability.

PMP becomes a bit worse with this many cards in the deck, but it’s a good filler, if anything. Skills are just so good in Minh, that you kinda need to play it.

Alternative Cards:

Kinda the elephant in the room. Idk, this just felt a bit weak when I tried it out. For a rather slow deck, it just feels like an action for a +3. If Learning could discard any card in your hand, this would be amazing, but rn I just feel like Shortcut is stronger.

Feels like a pretty intuitive choice with all the discard synergy and there’s also the sweet combo with Discovery, which makes this pretty good. Three exp just seems like a lot, compared to what Chart and Dream Diary offer.

It’s easy to justify cards like this in a 45 card deck and it can protect you from Necronomicon discarding stuff.

This is an idea I had at some point. This would involve playing cards like Art Student and Lab sis, to activate these two cards. Maybe in combination with Jeremiah and A chance encounter. Mainly to make these two cards good.
