The goal of 2.0 investigator starter decks is to "make them better" only with core set and Dunwich set cards. Newer cards can be added after finishing the Dunwich campaign so one can explore new stories with new cards at the same pace as years ago, when we didn’t have such vast opportunities as we do now.

It’s a kind of magic… well, it’s a real magic actually. Jacqueline Fine is "The Psychic" and she casts spells. No cheap tricks, no books, no guns. Who needs those when you can draw power from other worlds and create something out of nearly nothing?
Want to deal with some nasty creatures? Welcome Azure Flame and Shrivelling. Bye, nasty creature — bye bye. Wanna tilt the odds of drawing better cards each turn in your favor? Let’s do some Scrying and let the odds be ever in your favor. Want to investigate with ease? Clairvoyance is here. And the great thing about these spells? They don’t vanish immediately — each comes with 3–4 charges, giving you time to set the stage before they’re gone. And Jacqueline knows what lies ahead.
I´ve already mentioned one Scrying, but there’s also "the mirror mirror in the" pocket — who’s the best scryer of them all? Scrying Mirror, of course. Jacqueline can peek at skill test results before committing, which works beautifully with the Crystal Pendulum — you’re not guessing, you’re calculating. You’ll even know what the encounter deck is about to throw at you thanks to Alyssa Graham. And even if you decide not to alter the future, you can still block it with Ward of Protection.
You are the master of your own fate — and when everything is aligned, investigate freely while being Drawn to the Flame, or generate some resources with Voice of Ra. It might not sound as flashy as manipulating timelines, but it’s effective — and that’s what matters.
You don’t need to apologize to anyone — you don’t need anyone. If anything, the others need you. And you already know that, because you’ve seen the future. Even the dark one. But with infinite possibilities, darkness must be somewhere. You’ve seen it. You’re ready. You’re going to win, over and over, again and again.
You wrote it in the stars.

One funny thing — I’ve never played AH: LCG (actually I did, but it doesn’t really count). This is only theorycrafting based on information from ArkhamDB and my experience from other card/board games. Is this deck going to shine? I don’t know, but I’m somehow pretty sure that it’s at least much better than the preconstructed version. I’ve never ever seen a preconstructed deck that was really ready to play the moment you unpack it — such things simply don’t happen. True story. :-)
