Skids deck for true solo. Trying to make it as action efficient as possible because of the nature of true solo. Trench Coat may not be super efficient but it does bring Skids up to 5 evasion with a 2 point health soak. Any thoughts or ideas for different cards?

Jun 10, 2020Thank, you all very good points. Yes i was planning on upgrading the Emergency Cache into Pay Days. I hear you on Intel Report its a great card but I was also testing out Evidence in replace of Dodge as it costs 1 resource less and doesn't cost an action. Having an enemy on a clue location usually isn't a problem and if it is it can be committed as 2 intellect icons. I will probably replace Trench Coat or Hallowed Mirror with the Sour Mash as you said. Yea my initial plan was to upgrade into the Chicago Typewriter but after playing with the .45 Thompson I'm seeing how badly I need that second hand slot for a clue gathering item, Flashlight and Lockpicks. I don't know if including Bandolier is worth it. Any thoughts on using 2 handed weapons while also being able to clue gather efficiently? Thanks |
Jun 10, 2020I'm afraid I've never used two handed weapons with Skid's, as Bandolier has always felt like a huge cost. It costs almost 5 actions in Skids (2 resources, a draw, and a play action, those two resources could become a free any action thanks to Skids ability). You might try proxying the Mauser C96 from Winnie instead. Rogues have some pretty great small gun options, like the Lupara, plus they can also run away quite well in True Solo. Evidence! over Intel Report is actually a fair idea. I prefer the flexibility even with the significant increase in cost of Intel Report, but Evidence will let you keep up the speed. A marginal difference in my opinion. How has Evidence been working out? |
Jun 11, 2020Yea, Evidence has been a great addition. It has never been a dead draw, but that could be just me getting lucky. |
This is an heavy asset cost build, with few protective assets, and 6 resource gain cards. "Watch this!",Emergency Cache,Lone Wolf. Personally, Gregory Gry or Investments have worked out better for me over Emergency Cache, as they provide more resources, as well as protection to my more expensive assets.
.45 Automatic is an expensive limited use asset that I often swap out for Enchanted Blade unless I am running a purposeful gun build, however I do not see a planned gunning route.
Intel Report is a key card even in a high cost asset build, as testless clues can make or break a True Solo run. I usually want at least 4 cards to get clues off of shroud 4+ locations.
If you include Leo De Luca and Quick Thinking in Skid's, you better be planning on doing something with all those actions. Right now it appears your payoff is emptying a .45 Thompson. Reward your bonus actions somehow, though you can wait till the deck gains some experience, such as with Pay Day, Borrowed Time, Chicago Typewriter.
Easy Mark is an amazing cheap 1 xp upgrade for Skid's. Buy it when you have a left over experience point.
Tennessee Sour Mash is almost an auto include in Skid's and Finn. Have a good reason to not include it.
