My first attempt at specific deck construction. I started a solitaire campaign on normal difficulty. My aim with this Skids build is to leverage against plentiful fighting and some small boosts for given easier shroud locations, as well as several ways to mitigate or avoid attacks by enemies. Playing The Gathering, resources were slow in the beginning, but Burglary helps to get the ball rolling into mid-size assets like Machete and Beat Cop. In the end, I never faced Hospital Debts, and I realized that I would have been more resource starved had it come up. tests also tended to break even rather than passing with flying colors.

After gaining seven experience from the conclusion of The Gathering, I swapped both Leo De Luca cards with their upgrades (Leo De Luca), tossed in Hot Streak for a big resource bang, added Manual Dexterity for more coverage, and removed Beat Cop and Guard Dog to provide more room for Lita Chantler and Leo De Luca.

Given that I'm currently going into Midnight Masks blind, I have yet to know what to expect. Hopefully my basic understanding of Skids will hold its water long enough to dodge excessive pain...

Nice. How come you don't include the .41 Derringer? That is a key piece in my current Skids build.

Check me out on RingsDB as The White Wizard!

I found that Machete is more reliable than .41 Derringer every time since I can score consistent +1 damage as a solitaire investigator rather than winning a check by +2, which was less likely to occur. Machete also requires no ammunition, and pound for pound, I think it's a superior weapon and one of the strengths of Skids being part-Guardian.

Fair enough. I just never seem to have less than two enemies engaged at a time, so the Machete isn't much use. I suppose the ammo issue is also why you don't include the .45 Automatic? Great deck all in all though.

While not 100% reliable in all encounters, evading one enemy then popping Backstab and/or Sneak Attack kills that exhausted enemy and Machete is rebuffed for the remaining enemy.

As for the .45 Automatic, yes, that 's the same rationale.

Thanks for the compliment on the deck--I'm still playing, learning, and tweaking!
