WHAT'S THIS?! A CLUE! A Rex Murphy Deck 2 Detective Boogaloo 2 1 0 2.0

UPDATE: I made what I feel is a vastly improved version of this deck. This one is easier to pilot, and some might even consider it better since skill cards replace themselves, therefore getting to the meat of the deck quicker. However, this deck clearly lacks survivability, and being able to find clues ain't very helpful if you're dead. Check out the improved, higher survivability version of the deck, or feel free to combine the two as you'd like for somewhere between the two: https://arkhamdb.com/decklist/view/24189/what-s-this-a-clue-a-rex-murphy-deck-2-detective-boogaloo-2.0

My first Rex deck, in which he obsessively hunts for clues like a spaz and ignores everything else, so make sure to bring a good buddy to kill stuff for you. Always aim to beat investigation tests by at least 2, of course. Multiplayer. Core x2 and Dunwich Cycle only.

Scavenging to reliably bring Flashlight back. This card was pretty much made for Rex.

One Burglary splash to bolster the Emergency Caches fueling Higher Education. If you're feeling fine on resources (really just depends on how quickly the Doctor comes out), consider swapping for Double or Nothing, which combos excellently with Flashlight. I'm excited to eventually get my hands on some good Ally tutors so I can make this change official.

Quick Thinking is a nice flex card--can help with whatever you need it for, and great since Rex aims to beat investigation tests by 2 all the time anyway.

Preposterous Sketches for card draw and for bolstering Higher Education. Possibly the most questionable part of the deck because it is a little expensive for what it does, making it prohibitive to play. Consider Shortcut instead if you want to make the deck a bit cheaper and increase mobility so you can spend more of those actions hunting those sweet, sweet clues. Then upgrade those Shortcuts into Pathfinders for even more crazy mobility (but beware their cost).

Could definitely use a bit more defense (I originally had Think on Your Feet and Elusive for this reason). Consider a Leather Coat if you wish, and bring it back with Scavenging when it disappears. However, between "I've got a plan!", Mind over Matter, and especially Strange Solution (once upgraded), it may not be necessary.

Only other downside I can think of is that once you run out of clues, there's not a whole lot you can do other than burgle the hell out of Arkham. Hopefully you didn't have to blow the offensive cards on trash mobs too much, so that at least you can use them to help kill bosses. I also once considered Old Book of Lore to make him more useful to buddies, but just couldn't find a good time to play it in testing, let alone taking up a hand slot for it.

Upgrade priorities: Higher Education, Strange Solution, Deduction, Pathfinder (see above).

Yep. Pretty straight forward.
