Origin
When I saw Mariner's Compass I got so excited, and got a little less excited when I saw it exhausted after use (which, you know, is fine, it would be OP if it didn't exhaust). But then I was like why not pair it with "Ashcan" Pete so he can ready it once a turn. Hence, this Mariner Peter.
Overview
Honestly with Duke's investigation ability paired with the Compass it felt like a Ursula Downs. It was so, so fast. And so effective even in high shroud locations.
Piloting
Honestly, it's not a terribly difficult deck, basically you just want to get Granny Orne out, a Magnifying Glass, and of course your Mariner's Compass out. High shroud locations can be picked up with Duke or a pumped up Mariner's Compass, with a Lucky! to save you if you're worried. Everything else is for a bit of utility.
Mulligan
I would hard mulligan for Granny Orne and a Magnifying Glass, and hopefully a few Deductions to get me going. Eventually get your Mariner's Compass out and Dark Horse is gravy.
My Playthrough
I paired this with Zoey Samaras through the Dream Quest and it killed. I never got Wither out, but it was there to kill 3 health enemies with a Duke bite & a Wither.
