Context

Inspired from the very good (and well-written) https://arkhamdb.com/decklist/view/45309/ursula-errant-jailbreaking-the-pendant-of-the-queen-1.0 from @ErrantChuck. Go read their guide for a background and explanation of how this one is run.

This is a starting deck built for EotE with Leo Anderson who will get Calling in Favors so it's not available for this deck. If you have access to it, enjoy!

I added Death • XIII and Fieldwork to be more consistent during the first phase of the deck and later investigations.

Planned Upgrades

At 0XP (3 from In the Thick of It) the deck is up and running but need a few extra to be more consistent/pleasing to play.

If you are not planning to die playing Charon's Obol will accelerate the upgrade path and will make sure that Whitton Greene is always paired with a Relic.

Core (8XP)

For 8XP your deck is up. Now we can upgrade our combo. It is skippable and you can go to QoL section directly.

Combo upgrade (7XP Total: 15XP)

Apart from charge generation, the Runic Axe is kind of useless for Ursula. So we can upgrade it to The Red Clock.

How it works : Each round you get a charge on the clock, trigger the relevant effect and then transfer the charge onto the Pendant. The clock should never get to 4 charges and will always stay at the desired level. You can furthermore manipulate the number of charges using your faithfull Eldritch Sophist to get to the desired level.

Example

Let's say you have 2 charges on both items (Clock: 2, Pendant: 2) :

  • Start of the turn you add a charge on the Clock (now Clock: 3, Pendant: 2).
  • Since the Clock has 3 charges you get an extra action this round.
  • You swap the charge with your Eldritch Sophist from the Clock to the Pendant (Clock: 2, Pendant: 3).
  • You use one charge on the Pendant for whatever you want (Clock: 2, Pendant: 2)
  • You are now in the same state as the beginning of the round and can take your 4 actions.

Bonus : You get both of your hands free now that you don't have an Axe to run around with. So we can carry Magnifying Glass or any book (like : Prophesiae Profana)

Your combo is now better and you have free hands. Let's add a bit more consistency to the deck so we can be sure to get everything on the table.

Quality of Life (10XP Total: 25XP)

The upgraded version of No Stone Unturned is crazy on this deck as it will fish out any card missing on your combo from you whole deck without costing an action or resource. It will also trigger an Astounding Revelation for a sweet extra 2 resources. If that card is drawn too late or you don't need it because you have a good starting hand : Use it on your ally they will love you.

Luxury (??XP)

I'll list here a few things you can upgrade to :

  • 1XP Plan of Action => Magnifying Glass : An extra +1 to investigate that doesn't cost an action
  • 5XP Prophesiae Profana => This is everything you could be wishing for +1 to evade, +1 to investigate, no opportunity attacks and a potentially game breaking teleport.
  • 5XP (10XP) Deciphered Reality => You probably have explored the whole map leaving clues around, time to get all of them in one go.
  • 1XP x2 (2XP x2 with taboo) Shortcut => Pathfinder a bit slower but you now get a free move (and a free investigate) each round on top of everything else.

Looks great. You're going to be very rich resource-wise second half of the game, so maybe add a Higher Education to your Luxury upgrades?

After the first scenario of EotE I was indeed very rich… But also I spent most of the game with like 1-2 cards in hand so Higher Education would be hard to use. Maybe Hyperawareness but it eats away space in the deck and that’s my main problem right now.

The age-old struggle! Either there's enough resources and nothing to play them on, or everything to play but no resources...
