School of the Wolf Witcher

This is an updated version of my "You're a Wizard Marion". I dropped several cards...

... and added a few for the new theme:

  • Hallowed Mirror gets you some Healing Spells which will draw you 2 cards (1 printed on it and 1 more if it's the first event you play)
  • Wolf Mask makes you a School of the Wolf Witcher (and obviously gives you several buffs over the course of the game).
  • Monster Slayer fits the theme nicely but sadly isn't a Tactic. It is a Fight action on an event though, so you can throw both Determined at the test and get them back.
  • Guard Dog's are not wolves, but close enough. They have some great soak and Soothing Melody can keep them alive longer for their "soak & ping".

NOTE: I care more about the theme of this deck than it being crazy powerful. Also, I missed the clicked Solo instead of Multiplayer, but this deck obviously needs to be paired with a dedicated Cluever.

In Thick Thick of It

While The Book of War has an amazing effect, I don't think I need to bend the deck around getting it into play (which is the main reason I flipped on my original build). The deck will draw loads of cards, so you'll see it eventually and might grab it with Backpack.

Survivability is more important imo, so I spent two of my Thick XP on A Glimmer of Hope (2), since I get all three of them for only 2 XP.

These become "Guts with buyback", and if I buy them back as my first event of the phase I'll get a card draw in addition to getting all three of them back (and if I happen to draw "I'll do it myself" I'll happily discard all three Glimmers since I can buy them back again).

My third XP still went to Brand of Cthugha (1) for an extra weapon and damage output.

Because Marion only has 6 sanity, I'll take 2 physical trauma for In the Thick of It, and hope between Guard Dog and Soothing Melody I'll have enough healing and soak to make it through.

A Desperate Scrounge

Act of Desperation and Scrounge for Supplies are both here solely for The Book of War:

  • Throw an empty Book for the damage (and you don't need Determined since you're fighting at +4) and the money, then Scrounge the book back from discard.
  • If you don't have Act of Desperation when your book is empty, you can always just play the other book and send the empty one to discard.

With that said, if have a Good Boy in discard but not the book, it wouldn't be terrible to Scrounge for the doggo!

Upgrade Plans

Priority Upgrades:

Upgrading both One-Two Punch to One-Two Punch (5) is expensive, but WELL worth it, especially if you still have secrets on The Book of War to get it back to hand!

Other upgrades in no particular order:
