Hello Fellow investigators

Welcome to my structure deck series!

Concept

We finished with the core set and we decided to buy the whole Dunwich Cycle to feel the Arkham experience. We 'll discuss the new cards we added in our deck and which upgrade choices we take in solo and multiplayer.

I will focus on 19 XP upgrade routes since this is pretty much average in my Dunwich runs. I will also create decks of the Dunwich investigators and I will upgrade everyone setting as the final cycle The Forgotten Age. In the Circle Undone, Taboo List was introduced and I think you will already know the advantages/disadvantages of your favorite investigator in order to create your unique deck.

Let start with the show, shall we?

Gameplay

Little things change from the core set in our Lvl 0 deck. Although we have lots of interesting choices and mechanics in our upgrade routes.

1st mention is Lone Wolf. Great card for solo, keep it in your opening hand for maximum result. If you 're playing Multiplayer swap Lone Wolf with 1x Dynamite Blast and 1x "If it bleeds...".

Prepared for the Worst is our searcher for Machete and .45 Automatic. Keep it on your opening hand if you don't draw a weapon.

Double or Nothing can create some explosive turns with huge dmg from Backstab. If you use it for yourself be prepared to have a good amount of resources in order to have a successful test. In multiplayer you can use it in a Wendy Adams Will to Survive turn to have a successful test. It can even become easier if you have a Daisy Walker with Encyclopedia. Many choices in multiplayer as you can see :)

Finally again Guard Dog is our Lvl 0 ally we trust again for the first scenarios. The new ally Joey "The Rat" Vigil is too expensive and if you ask me I would choose Leo De Luca over him any time.

Upgrade Route

Two main routes here to upgrade and one honorable mention.

The solo Ace ( Yeah I love to give names in the upgrade Routes, it creates a theme haha ): While this route focuses on Ace in the Hole we need a built-up to get advantage from its effect.

1xStreetwise is a great addition for Skids. It helps you with these high shroud locations and makes viable the Double or Nothing/ Backstab combo early on. I would try to get this card 1st as a priority.

2x Guard Dog Beat Cop

2x Vicious Blow Vicious Blow

1x Elusive 1x Cat Burglar

1x Elusive 1x Hot Streak

Ace in the Hole is your final XP card. In solo, this card is better than The Gold Pocket Watch in terms of cost and actions. But in Multiplayer The Gold Pocket Watch really shines especially in a Four-players game where skipping Mythos phase is essential.

The second Upgrade Route as you will already guess is based around The Gold Pocket Watch in Multiplayer.

Again I would buy first Streetwise since it's creating value early on. The other cards can be a little random and that depends on your fellow investigators.

Go for 2x Brother Xavier if only you have Agnes Baker as a teammate. If not go for 2x Beat Cop.

Add 2xExtra Ammunition if a Guardian player goes for Lightning Gun and a Contraband(instead Dynamite Blast ) from the beginning as a cherry on top.

2x Police Badge especially if you 're playing with Wendy Adams.

2x Vicious Blow Vicious Blow

Our last card will be The Gold Pocket Watch. It provides an investigation phase without any encounter terrors and usually use it for a pretty difficult situation where you really don't want to worry for more treacheries/enemies or for an explosive turn(deal the final blow on elite enemies). Since it costs 8 XP I don't think you 'll have enough for a Hot Streak. Discuss with your teammates which you should prioritize and if you can fit 1 copy of Hot Streak in your deck instead of the other cards we mention.

Honorable Mention: The Chicago Typewriter route. You will be the main combat character in your multiplayer game. You 're building around this asset adding cards like Extra Ammunition and Contraband for more ammo. Beat Cop and Vicious Blow to boost your ability. It combos pretty well with Double or Nothing for 6 sweet damage. The reasons we find Chicago Typewriter relatively weak in this cycle are two.

First, there is Lightning Gun for Guardians which is far better than Chicago Typewriter and most of the time you will just buffing this guardian guy by giving him ammo and actions for killing enemies.

Second, you are missing some key cards that make Chicago Typewriter really shine and these are Well Prepared and Sleight of Hand. Especially Well Prepared allows you not to spent an action in order to get that +2 .

Although if you want to create a Gangster theme Gang on your multiplayer with you as the main killer then go for it!

Summary

Overall Skids have some great upgrades giving him an important role in multiplayer, unlike Core set where he couldn't bring much to the team. In solo with the addition of Lone Wolf, he can easily pay 2 resources for his ability and this helped him becoming mobile and efficient ending a scenario faster than other investigators. Your talents (Physical Training and Streetwise ) are there to help you overcome any test so the only thing you need to worry about is your resource management.

I hope you liked this guide and we'll continue with Agnes Baker new deck.

To be continued..

what do you replace for streetwise early on?

@Sitting_Dutchman hello my friend. Cards with the permanent keyword do not count towards your deck size. So streetwise starts in play and cannot be shuffled in your deck or discarded.

@Jgood5124 hello my friend. Sorry for my late response. Feeling confident with streetwise I 'll swap Manual Dexterity for Ace.
