Ursula tossed in her sleep. She knew she wouldn't be well rested without her favourite Blanket, so she instead channeled her frustration into her Dream Diary. That's going to be our in-character excuse for upgrading into Dreams of a Madman and not Dreams of an Explorer. The latter makes perfect sense in multiplayer, but in our game an engaged enemy is a clear and present danger in a way that no high-shroud location is. So, six XPs go for Dream Diaries and the then we round up the deck with two Pathfinders and brace ourselves for the hardest scenario in the campaign. Ursula's going into the temple with neither Provisions nor Torches. Enjoy!

Excellent! Ursula managed to reach the Throne Room without running into either Sealed Passage or Ancient Hall. This means we've prevented two encounter cards from padding the exploration deck. I've had Ursula return to the Throne Room in mostly to maintain that advantage. The mysterious specter is not terribly important if we're not forging our own path. I'd much rather have that victory point on Grand Chamber. We'll hopefully be able to grab it on our way back. No enemies so far, other than the aloof Serpent Guardian. Aloof means we don't need to spend actions to deal with it, so Ursula doesn't mind at all.

Wheee! We got to swing over a pit full of vipers! I've agonized over choosing Rope over Torches, since Torches was the safer option, but couldn't replicate this scene. Overall luck is on Ursula's side. We didn't chart the shortest route outside and the Harbinger still managed to nab her, but as it turns out our explorer can get along with rank-and-file snakes and the Harbinger herself was eventually left far behind. At this point it should be possible to reach the exit with significant health and sanity buffer. Provided nothing unexpected happens.

We're out! Five cards were left in the exploration deck and that includes three encounters and two bypassed locations. But, I think the real difference was made with low number of hunters drawn. I've played this scenario solo several times and an early Brood of Yig and Vengeful Serpent tended to spiral into disaster. That said, I appreciate the inclusion of Tindalos Alpha. This little doggo brims with flavor. In any case, we're leaving the ruins behind and returning to Arkham. I'm still hesitating between the trust-no-one and befriend-Ichtaca routes, so I'll hand over the relic to Harlan for the moment. Until next time!
