The Williams are all Geared Up

Take a trip with Yorick and Webb to double down on the idea of recycling your graveyard.

• Start with up to 10 additional playable assets. Although Bury Them Deep might be discarded this way. So keep it during mulligan, or hope for an elder sign, or buy Shrine of the Moirai.
• Get up to two items from your discard pile when you successfully investigate. Investigating can be boosted to 6 through events, skills, items and Dark Horse. Also you may investigate a neighboring location with a lower shroud to succeed.
• Schoffner's Catalogue provides resources for the entire team. Just make sure you can replay a second copy with resources in the current one, to keep Dark Horse is active.
• Keep team mates alive by Talisman of Protection. Just investigate or defeat enemies to keep doing so.

Professor William Webb and Dark Horse can be tricky to play later, hence the Emergency Cache. After some upgrades Ever Vigilant makes them playable after saving up one turn or spending an action to get a second resource.

Core upgrades for maximum action compression (12 total xp)

• 2x Backpack, less costs, more search, more option. Nice! (be aware backpack does not work the way you think with Geared Up)
• 2x Ever Vigilant, each of these is likely worth 2 actions and 3 resources. A great many assets can be played for free this way (even more so after further upgrades)
• Scavenging, need one action less each time it triggers.
• 2x Professor William Webb, also get a clue, instead of needing to choose.

Further upgrades

• Plucky is just good and is easy to recycle. Play for free any time you defeat an enemy. Replaces Cherished Keepsake. Could even take In the Thick of It with Plucky and add Thermos to easily heal back that trauma. Cost is a bit high though.
• Bandolier could give loads of freedom in regard to play timing, although no more soak with Leather Coat though.
  • Gravedigger's Shovel & Lantern reduce costs
  • Ice Pick becomes an option. Scavenging suddenly becomes much easier to trigger. Enemies with 3 health now can be killed on one action, and you get it back afterwards!
• Relic Hunter

  • Key of Ys (after 3 horror on key, soak remaining on Cherished Keepsake
• Tennessee Sour Mash
• Call for Backup has 4 triggers potentially.
